He has been involved in athletics at both the high school and collegiate levels, playing baseball and water polo, and brings that education and personal experience to bear on clients in the MSF Studio.
He enjoys working with all types of clients to help them reach their projected goals, and as a part of MSF, Chris is especially enthusastic about combating the scourge of childhood obesity through outreach work with the Excellence Through Exercise Foundation.
An aspiring entrepreneur, Chris is also in the initial stages of starting his own active-wear clothing line!
In short, if you bring the passion and the perserverance, Chris will give you the professionalism and positive encouragement to help you achieve your fitness potential.
Cristina Gonzalez is a graduate of Rio Hondo College’s Fitness Specialist Program. This program includes case studies intended to help fitness professionals look after a client’s fitness and health. She has performed case studies on clients at many fitness levels. Much of the work involved creating fitness programs for different populations.
Curious about the field, Cristina took yoga and cross-training classes to develop a solid program that was adaptable to any individual need. She experienced a variety of group classes and taught a group class of her peers. She also did fitness exercise with her youth group at St. Helen’s in South Gate. Cristina has taught strength training classes as well, focusing on helping clients and students maintain proper form, and modifying exercises to suit the needs of individual clients.
She started her internship with Michael Seril Fitness in the summer of 2010. She enjoys the positive environment and varied approach the MSF Studio offers, as opposed to crowded gyms that sometimes have a more negative or competitive atmosphere. After completing her internship, Cristina is excited to be a part of the MSF team.
“You lose with potential, and you win with execution” is a motto she has followed since she heard it from one of her high school coaches. Cristina believes that everyone has the potential to get better at things: whether it be a skill, a talent, or a life goal such as fitness; what is usually lacking is the commitment required to execute on the person’s desire.
So let Cristina motivate you to become a better and healthier you! She has the skills and training to help you build your own motivation base and develop the habits that will change your life!
Maria Panuco (B.S., Nutritional Science, CSULA, 2010) is currently enrolled as a graduate student at California State University,
Los Angeles, working on both a Master of Science Degree in Nutritional Science as well as completion of the Coordinated Dietetic Program. Upon graduation, she will engage her community as a Registered Dietitian, eager to assist individuals through education, to combat and prevent the various health risks associated with poor diet and a sedentary lifestyle.
Her focus on fitness and nutrition has led her recently into partnership with fitness educator, Michael Seril (M.S. in Kinesiology); a collaboration that will balance Michael’s proven program of fitness training with seminars and print media that will challenge participants to re-think their relationship to food and its complex impact on every aspect of their lives (“diet” as more than simple “weight loss”, diet as it effects, energy levels, emotional wellness, muscle repair, disease prevention, etc).
Maria currently holds active membership in the CSULA Student Dietetic Association, the American Dietetic Association, and the California Dietetics Association, and has participated and continues to involve herself in the annual fundraising and community outreach efforts of these organizations.
